donations

After a few hours of work at a client’s place, Sunny brought a car full of stuffs to Goodwill for donations.

My client said she’ll call Goodwill to pick up these items, but the pick up time is often days or even weeks later. Goodwill is only few blocks away from my home, so I don’t mind taking stuffs there to donate for my clients. I offer this service for free and I cleared the client’s space the same day, so we could have more space for organizing. Also, all donations are tax-deductible! It’s a win-win situation!

經過幾個小時的工作之後, Sunny 從客戶的地方清走了一整車的東西,並且免費幫客戶帶去 Goodwill 捐掉了。

本來客戶說他會打電話請 Goodwill 來載走這些東西,但是以我以前的經驗,我知道他們通常都要約到好幾天,甚至好幾週之後才能來搬走。因為 sunny 家就在 Goodwill 附近,所以可以當天就幫客戶免費載走東西拿去 Goodwill 捐掉。如此一來,客戶省了許多麻煩,不但不必約不必等,空間也可以立刻清出來做其他的收納用途。而且捐的東西還可以抵稅喔! 真是一舉數得!

Sunny 的收納案件: 書房收納整理

The client moves into a new house, so we moved her office items and re-organized them into her new office. This the old and new drawers for her most commonly used stationary. Her new drawer is wider yet shallower. I reused the small tin boxes that the clients no longer uses. The boxes and the covers can both become dividers for this very shallow drawer and they’re perfect size for the small items.

The 2 larger dividers on the left are also recycled from small shoe box lids.

We didn’t spend any money buying organizers to organizer this drawer. We only keep the items that she actually used in this drawer and get rid of the broken/bad/unused ones. Also we relocate the sunglasses and papers to different drawers (the new drawer is much shallower). Now she has a drawer that’s organized and easy to use.

客戶搬到新家去,這是她的書房的新舊抽屜對照圖。新的抽屜比較寬,但也比較淺。

Sunny 回收利用客戶不要的一些小鐵盒,把盒身跟盒蓋都回收利用,拿來裝一些小文具。左邊兩個收納盒,也是回收小鞋盒的蓋子再利用。

這個抽屜的收納整理,完全沒有花錢買收納用品。我們只保留客戶真正在用的文具,把多餘的,壞的,或是根本不用的都去除,把剩下要用的都分類整理好,這樣客戶就有一個整齊又好用的新抽屜了。至於眼鏡盒因為太大,所以放到其他抽屜,紙類也因為功能不同,而收到其他的抽屜裡。

相信很多人都有一樣的問題,桌上或抽屜裡有幾十支筆,可是要用的時候,常常拿到的都是沒水的筆,或是很難寫的筆。建議大家,只留下你最愛用的那幾支基本款 在筆筒裡/抽屜裡,把壞的,沒水的全部扔掉。至於還可以用的,先全部集中到另外的地方,找個小盒子或桶子裝起來,當成備用的庫存,只有在你常用的筆已經用 到沒水丟掉了,才再拿出一支備用的筆出來用,一次只換一支。這麼一來,雖然你筆筒裡的筆看起來好像變得很少了,可是每次拿出來的每一支都是好用的筆!

Sunny’s File drawer re-Organization :
Personally, I prefer using hanging file folders for all my paper organization. It’s easy to file and retrieve. The labels were created with a label maker and the tabs were re-organized according to categories. All dated/unnecessary papers were thrown away. Files that are not current but needed to be kept were moved to storage area, the hanging file folders are for filing “active” papers only. The file drawer looks un-cluttered and easier to use after organizing.

Sunny 的檔案抽屜重新整理收納: 我個人喜歡用懸掛式的檔案抽屜來整理所有的紙類文件,因為一目了然又容易歸檔。用標籤機打出標籤,使標籤看起來整齊一致。標籤的編排可以依照個人使用習 慣,照字母排,或是其他的分類方法都行。圖上的檔案是將所有我個人的文件標籤靠右,公司工作標籤靠左,其他的非個人或公司的,都放中間 (家人,孩子學校資料,剪報廣告等等…)

已經過其或不需要的資料文件直接丟棄,如有需要存檔,但不是現在需要用的文件 (例如七年之內的稅務資料),則移到其他的長期收納空間,這個檔案抽屜只拿來做 “進行中的” 檔案整理 (例如本年度的稅務資料,收據,銀行明細,小孩本年度的學校資訊等等…)

整理過後的檔案抽屜,看起來比較整齊,也更容易使用了 :-)
